Vine Charcoal and pastels worked into glitter paper is almost like painting. When worked with a brush, the material turns into a liquid and facilitates easy planning. Marker adds color and form, layered materials cause contrast. The background ombre color differentiates elevations.
Arrange the cloud types into their elevations.
Use the white pastel to create volume in areas of the clouds that will be puffy and bright. Use a brush to break the material into a soft liquid.
Use an icy color for clouds in high elevation.
Use a light charcoal to create some drama inside of storm clouds. Puffy clouds will need contrast also.
Push the blackpoint with a soft, dark charcoal. Use a brush to break and blend the material into shadows.
Label the clouds in a contrasting metallic marker.
