Simple and direct, the ombre glitter paper supports a sand dune landscape in Pastel and Charcoal on glitter paper. Using an eraser, tracks through the dunes are created, then enhanced with adding lights and darks. Some marker adds color into the audience; alcohol with a brush sets the shadows.
Use a white pastel to add material to the paper. Establish the landscape and planes of light. Use a paper towel to push and blend the material into the paper.
Create tracks through the landscape with an eraser. Draw the lines as if they are following a contour of the dune.
Add features to the landscape in compressed charcoal, balancing the drawing with the eraser and white pastel.
Using a brush, stroke alcohol into the dark areas to break up and saturate the charcoal into the paper. This will make darker values but will expense details. Use the alcohol to set the shadows.
